The model is based on over 30 years of research by Bill Plotkin and the Animas Valley Institute. The model expresses 8 stages of human development with 9 passages with mature adulthood and life-enhancing cultures being rooted in transpersonal experience and revelation.

Over 2017/8 MindTech and the James Lind Alliance identified the Top 10 questions for digital technology in mental healthcare, these were filtered down from an initial 1350 questions, submitted by people with lived experience and health professionals. It is their intention that these will guide the funders of research to ensure that future research is focused on answering these questions and that the potential of digital technology for mental health can be fully realised.

Each conversation will centre around a series of structured questions related to the theme of the DigitalmHealth Conversation.

During this talk, Juliet Grayson will use a video showing the use of touch during a PBSP client session. In PBSP, this is done not by the therapist but using group members who role play Ideal Figures.

We will see more details of a PBSP client session (called a structure), and you will see in the video, the way we build this up, and the shifts that the client makes. Juliet will pause the video to comment on the techniques and what we are seeing.

Older people rarely feature in counselling literature, and the very old barely at all. When I was training, I was as perplexed about this as I was disappointed. Counselling older adults, and those at the very end of their lives, is challenging, life-affirming, and, with the rapid rate of ageing, vital work. With this interview, I hope to inspire others to come into this work, using my own experiences to bring it to life, and to open the debate with colleagues already experienced in this area about how we improve access to and uptake of this service.

Energy Work for the Therapeutic Community – Amy Skezas
