Event Details

In that first hardly noticed moment in which you wake,
coming back to this life from the other more secret,
moveable and frighteningly honest world where everything began,
there is a small opening into the new day
which closes the moment you begin your plans.

"What you can plan is too small for you to live.
What you can live wholeheartedly will make plans enough
for the vitality hidden in your sleep."
What to Remember When Waking
~ David Whyte

In this Interview in nature/eco-based work, Wendy is in conversation offering another way of dreamwork through a Soulcentric perspective. From this perspective, every dream is an opportunity for transforming the ego in a shift from ego-centric identity to soulcentric identity into living the full mythopoetic, enchanted (and enchanting) human being we are born to be. This way of working has us returning to dream and to let the dream do it's work on us rather than us doing the work/analysis/interpretation on the dream. This way of dreamwork also provides us with a way to surrender to Earth Community and to all the parts of the dream being animate having their own authentic dignity. We might ask if we are actually part of the dreamworld rather than the dream characters being part of our dream. Wendy is also in conversation about how wandering on the land in conversation with our dreams can deepen our experience of ourselves, the land and the dream leading us to next steps in the conversation between crossing into the Mysteries between nature and psyche on the Journey to Soul. Perhaps our dreams hold the truth of who we really are and by not attending to them, we lose connection with our deeper Self. Maybe, as Thomas Berry imagined, it is we humans who are the dream of the Earth. If you have a short, fresh dream, do bring it and we will see if there's a moment to experience the work. Otherwise, there is a two-part workshop in December to be dreamed into for a deeper taste of the work.

"To be human is to become visible
while carrying what is hidden as a gift to others.
To remember the other world in this world
is to live in your true inheritance."
What to Remember When Waking
~ David Whyte

Wendy has guided dreamwork for many years including leading dreamwork groups at the Salisbury Centre in Edinburgh in the previous Century! She is currently trained in dreamwork from the Animas Valley Institute in Colorado.

About Wendy Robertson Fyfe

MA (UK)

I'm a Renaissance woman; a nature-based soul-centric guide and mentor, poet, writer, psychosynthesis psychotherapist, and photographer. I previously worked as a Cultural Historian, researching the development and professionalism of/allies between medicine and law from the 19th Century in England with regard to redefining women's bodies and social roles and then Associate Lecturer at The Open University in Scotland. In 1995, The Wild, in the form of an Autumn Spruce along the Findhorn River, Scotland, invited me to sing and I joined in with a deeper song. In 2001, I first offered 'The Walk' in East Lothian, filmed by BBC Scotland. My listening eye has since led me to all sorts of awe-inspiring and wondrous places around the globe.

I am passionate about, and committed to, this historic moment of 'The Great Turning' and through my journeying into and over lands experience deeply Earth's urgency for us to dive down to Holy roots; to our inheritance in Imagination and Intelligence of Earth's Dreaming claiming our original mythopoetic voices.... returning with our unique and wild notes in service of Earth Community.

I live in Dunbar, Scotland, the birthplace of John Muir. I'm deeply involved with bringing the work of the Animas Valley Institute to Europe and am currently a Senior Apprentice with Bill Plotkin and the Animas Valley Institute.
